ECCA 12 Hour (and National Championship event) |
Frank Ryan 218 Miles

Kevin Dawson Hounslow and District Wheelers 296 Miles
Frank said after the event.
"I can tell you that the whole event was quite an
experience, every bit the endurance ride from hell. You start to wonder why so
many people are willing pay to take themselves to the limit, and in most cases
beyond. I do feel a great sense of achievement, tinged with just a tad of
exhaustion. The whole event was a bit like joining an exclusive club where the
entry requires some bizarre ritual (well 12 hours stuck on a bike must count)
that seems to take forever.
Pat Goodwin did a superb job supporting me, particularly as his newish toy
(Motorbike) got a thorough soaking in the storm that passed over the circuit.
He was in all of the right places at the right time, clearly shows a man that
has been there before... also Derek and Helen came out and did a valuable stint
midway, handing over to Elliot and Miranda.
My final mileage was 218 not enough to win Comp record or become National
champion, or even beat Dereks remarkable 248 but I am extremely pleased with the
result; I finished and that is an achievement in its self."
