IN CELEBRATION OF LE TOUR DE FRANCE IN LONDON

The Becontree Wheelers and Team Economic Energy celebrated the Tour de France start in London by holding their own joint prologue.

The race was held over one 5 mile lap of the Friday evening time trial course.  

One lap of our course is more or less the same distance as the course in London. The roads maybe not as smooth and we may have a few hills in our race but it was a bit of fun.

There were four races in one, under 18’s, Senior, Vets and a separate Ladies Race.  

First three in each group received a goodie bag, Tour baseball cap plus the winner also took home a Nike Tour Cycling Jersey (worth £90), (Under 18’s a Tour Tee Shirt.)

Kindly donated by London Borough of Barking & Dagenham road safety dept.

The club points were run as per other evenings.

French style food was available after.
