Hill Climb - Team Economic Energy event - 26 October

Friday Evening 10 mile Time Trial series

Course - E14A based on Navestock Heath, Essex

Club events held in partnership with Team Economic Energy. Open for "Private" time trials subject to availability. Just turn up and ride. However, you must be a member of a club affiliated to Cycling Time Trials. If not, you will need to ask your club to arrange affiliation or alternatively join a club already affiliated. Becontree Wheelers and Team Economic Energy both welcome new members.

Entry fee £1.50 per ride for under 18s and £3 for all others. Refreshments normally included.

For newcomers and others who do not wish to ride the full 10 miles, we offer a 1 lap competition of approximately 5 miles. Just tell the timekeeper you are interested in this when you sign on. You will normally ride after the main field of 10 milers.

Series to take place every Friday evening from early April to early September. 

Special events will be included as follows.

• "Athletes" 10. The event to be held on 20 June. To be eligible for this event riders must use standard bicycles and equipment. Full details of the rules to be applied will be published nearer the time.
• "Prologue". This will be held on 4 July to celebrate the start of the 2008 Tour de France. All riders will complete 1 lap of the Navestock course. It will be open to all-comers subject to availability and CTT affiliation and results will be based on Veterans, Seniors, Juniors, and Ladies.

Heffer Memorial 14 Mile Time Trial

Course - E34 based on Ockendon, Essex - Non Standard distance, approx 14 miles. 

The 2008 edition will use an event promoted by another club. Details will be published in due course.

Club Runs

Club members meet by the bus stop outside Corbetts Tey cemetery each Sunday  morning for a gentle social ride. All members are welcome to participate but they leave at 8:30 am sharp so don't be late. The length of the ride and the route are generally agreed at the time.

Tour de France

The annual trip to watch part of the Tour de France has been organised and details are as follows.

• 10 people have confirmed so hotels have been booked for 5 nights as follows:-
• 11th and 12th July Toulouse (see stage finish on Saturday)
• 95 miles to Tarbes by bike, train, or car/van if we decide to hire one out there.
• 13th and 14th July Tarbes
• 30 miles to mountain stage and return to hotel.
• 95 miles to Toulouse, transport as mentioned above.
• 15th July Toulouse.
